Sharjah Women's Sports and PNU sign a memorandum of cooperation in Riyadh

The Sharjah Women's Sports signed a memorandum of cooperation with Princess Noura Bint Abdulrahman University (PNU) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday.

This agreement is part of the SWS’s ongoing efforts to establish sustainable partnerships with local, Arab, and international institutions to support its objectives in promoting women's sports and other related fields, and to advance women's participation in sports and society.

The signing ceremony took place in conjunction with the organization of the first sports tournament for female students of universities and higher education institutions in the GCC countries, which is being held by the university from April 26 to May 1.

The signing of the memorandum underscores the shared commitment of both Sharjah Women's Sports and Princess Noura Bint Abdulrahman University to solidify and formalize their collaborative efforts in advancing women's sports.

It aims to foster twinning programmes between Saudi and UAE universities and institutions, enabling girls and women to leverage the sporting opportunities offered by institutions in both countries. Additionally, the agreement facilitates the exchange of professional and administrative expertise, reflecting the shared belief in the significance of unified and coordinated endeavors to capitalize on available resources.

The memorandum identified a set of areas of cooperation, including providing free training programs in several fields for sports team administrators, technical staff, and female players.

It also outlined plans for organizing sports camps tailored for female students and facilitating reciprocal visits by female players and technical personnel to foster knowledge exchange initiatives.

The signing ceremony took place in presence of Hanan Al Mahmoud, Vice Chairperson of Sharjah Women's Sports, Dr. Donia Bint Abdul Aziz Al Faraj, Dean of Female Student Affairs at the University. Moza Al Shamsi, Deputy Director at Sharjah Women’s Sports, Maria Bin Karam, Media and Public Relations Executive, along with other university officials.

Hanan Al Mahmoud emphasized the significance of the partnership, viewing it as a valuable opportunity for mutual benefit between the institution and the university, renowned as one of Saudi's foremost educational establishments.

She underscored that the institution would leverage all available resources, including sports facilities and skilled personnel, to fulfill the objectives outlined in the memorandum.

Hanan Al Mahmoud expressed optimism that the partnership would realize its envisioned goals for both entities.
