An Asian duo, aged 27 and 32, were trialled by the Dubai Public Prosecution on robbery charges.

They were accused of stealing a woman’s designer bag from inside her apartment in Dubai.

Court records point out that the two defendants were working as cleaners at a company for maintenance and cleaning services, and had been assigned to clean the victim’s apartment on the day of the incident.

After returning to her apartment, the victim discovered that her Dhs9,900 worth bag was missing. She was informed by the building’s security guard that the defendants had thrown the expensive purse into the garbage while cleaning the place.

Unfortunately for the victim, the building’s surveillance cameras did not show the garbage room to verify the incident.

On top of that, the security guard informed her that the garbage was already removed by Dubai Municipality vehicles.

The upset victim decided to file a police report about the two cleaners who carelessly threw away her belongings without paying any concern.

Police teams identified the whereabouts of the defendants and placed them under arrest for causing the loss of a Dhs9,900 worth bag.

During investigations, one of the defendants stated that he had seen the bag placed on a corner between the living room and the restroom, and had mistaken it for garbage.
