Rain hits parts of UAE, drop in temperature expected until Saturday

Various areas of the country experienced light to moderate rains on Tuesday, and the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) expected continued rainfall and a drop in temperatures until next Saturday, due to the country being affected by an extension of a surface air depression, accompanied by an extension of an air depression in the upper layers of the atmosphere.

Light rains fell on North Bu Kariya and Al Khazna in Al Ain, on Al Shamkha, Al Rahba, Shakhbout City, Al Nahda, Al Wathba, and on Bin Al Jisrain in Abu Dhabi, while light to moderate rains fell on Al Badiyah and Sharm in Fujairah, on Al Saadi, Al Jazeera Al Hamra, and on Al Marjan in Ras Al Khaimah. Light rains  fell on Al Rafaa in Umm Al Quwain, on Khor Fakkan, and on Al Dhaid, Maliha and Al Faya roads in Sharjah.

The lowest temperature in the country was on Tuesday morning, 16°C, was recorded in Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah at 01:45 am, while the second lowest temperature, 16.5°C, was recorded in Jebel Al Rahba at 01:35 am, UAE local time.

The NCM expected Wednesday’s weather to be generally clear to partly cloudy, with clouds appearing over the northernmost regions during the day, with the possibility of light rains, and another drop in temperatures.

It is also expected that the weather will be humid at night and on Thursday morning, with the possibility of light fog formation over some coastal areas, and winds will be southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate, sometimes active, stirring dust, with speeds ranging from 10 to 25, amounting to 35 kilometres/h.

The sea on Wednesday is expected to be moderate to light in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, according to the NCM, which indicated that Thursday’s weather Would be clear to partly cloudy in general and cloudy at times in the northern and eastern regions, with the possibility of light rains, and humid at night and on Friday morning, with the possibility of formations of fog or light fog over some coastal and inland areas, especially to the west

Winds on Thursday will be southwesterly, turning to northeasterly, light to moderate, sometimes active, stirring dust, with speeds ranging from 10 to 25, amounting to 35 kilometres/h, and the sea will be light in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.
