ABU DHABI: Four persons were killed while three others were critically injured and a fourth sustained moderate injuries in a tragic road accident that took place on Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Road after Al Marfa Bridge towards Abu Dhabi.

They are all members of a GCC national’s family, according to Colonel Mohamed Moslem Al Mahrami, Director of Traffic Department in Al Dhafra.

The preliminary investigations confirmed that the reason behind the accident was the sudden swerving which led to a collision and overturning of the vehicle, Mahrami said.

The police patrols and the ambulance immediately reached the location of the accident, which was secured and cordoned by the patrols, while the injured were sent to a hospital to receive the medical treatment, he added.

He called on the road users, especially during the late hours to stop their vehicles off the road in the event of feeling sleepy and tired and take a rest.
