Al Khaleej meet to focus on Artificial Intelligence

SHARJAH: The Al Khaleej Research Centre at Dar Al Khaleej for Press, Printing and Publishing will hold its 18th annual conference on “The Artificial Intelligence Strategy in the UAE” on Saturday (May 5), with the participation of a number of ministers, officials and prominent personalities from inside and outside the UAE.

The morning session chaired by Dr Sulaiman Al Jassim, researcher and academic, will handle “Artificial Intelligence Strategy .. Goals and Aspirations” where Omar Bin Sultan Al Olama, State Minister of Artificial Intelligence, will present a research paper on the topic.

Following the morning session, Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance, will give an opening speech on artificial intelligence in the UAE, followed by a welcome speech by Khalid Abdullah Omran Taryam, Chairman of Dar Al Khaleej Press, Printing and Publishing.

During the conference, the 15th edition of Taryam and Abdullah Omran Journalism Awards in six fields - Analysis, Dialogue, Article, Column, Photography and Caricature — will be awarded, as it is usually done annually at the conference.

The second session headed by Abdullah Abdul Jabbar Al Majid, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice for Support Services, will tackle the legal framework of Artificial Intelligence institutions in the UAE, while Dr Emad Al Dahiyat, Head of the Private Law Department at the University of UAE, will introduce a research paper on the legal framework, putting into effect the role of institutions.

During the third session headed by Azza Soliman, member of the FNC, Dr Issa Al Bastaki, President of Dubai University and Chairman of the Emirates Club, will present a paper on the importance of Artificial Intelligence and its impact on various economic and educational activities, and the latter’s role in supporting artificial intelligence and building future generations owning knowledge tools.

Khalid Taryam stated that selecting the title “Artificial intelligence strategy in the UAE” is in line with the leadership’s keen interest in the topic, its keenness to acquire knowledge and Emiratisation and building a future ensuring the sustainability of prosperity and happiness for the various members of the UAE community.
