SHARJAH: Phil Taylor will be among the world’s top eight darts players who will fly to Dubai for the Dubai Duty Free Darts Masters, the first leg of the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) Series, to be played at the Dubai Tennis Stadium on May 23,24.

“The other darts players around the world are jealous of the eight players who will come to Dubai,” Power Taylor told media persons during a briefing in Dubai. “I am looking forward to this event,” added the 16-time world champion.

“We want to create the same ambience we have in England,” said PDC Chairman Barry Hearn. “Darts fans in Dubai will not get to see the best players in flesh for the first time,” he added.

“We think that this sports will be a good addition to Dubai’s busy sports and social calendar,” said Colm McLoughlin of Dubai Duty Free.

Adrian Lewis, James Wade, Michael van Gerwen, Simon Whitlock, Andy Hamilton. Wews Newton and Raymond van Barenveld will join Taylor. The event will be shown live on Dubai Sports and OSN. Craig Mather, managing director of One Events, also attended.
