ABU DHABI: The Abu Dhabi Court began the third hearing in the trial of the murder of an Abu Dhabi child Azan, 11, on Wednesday.

The heinous crime shook the nation.

The court heard that the suspect was fit to stand for trial. The fitness test was requested at the last hearing.

Medical papers, reviewed by the court, concluded on the psychological state of the accused.

The defence lawyer earlier presented the case citing he was psychologically disturbed when he committed the crime in June.

The dejected family demanded no leniency in the earlier hearing and now asked for death penalty for the accused.

The alleged accused disguised himself in a woman’s attire and took the boy to the roof and strangled him to death. He also sodomised the boy.

The court has been adjourned till the end of the month.
