ABU DHABI: The Abu Dhabi Police arrested an Asian drug trafficker who under the guise of his tailoring trade conducted illegal activities.

The operation called “Poisoned Scissors,” foiled the tailor’s ring and seized 6kg of pure crystal meth drugs, which presents severe health risks to victims.

Colonel Taher Gharib Al-Dhahiri, Director of the Directorate of Drug Control in the Criminal Security Sector, said confidential information revealed that a person possessed a quantity of narcotic substances for the purpose of trafficking.

An integrated security plan was immediately put in place to investigate and monitor the suspect, and arrest him as soon as possible to protect society from its evils.

He pointed out that the results of accurate and expanded investigations confirmed the validity of this information.

The culprit admitted during the interrogation that the crystal anaesthetic seized in his possession was for the purpose of smuggling to earn extra income.

He was transferred to the Public Prosecutor’s Office to complete the proceedings.

Al Dhahiri stressed the ability of Abu Dhabi Police to confront drug cases, uncover criminal plans and paralyse the operations of traffickers, smugglers and promoters.

He added that every person who embodies the concept of good citizenship should not hesitate to report such incidents, and that they should not be a target for them if they offer their toxic goods or lure them with cash to promote them.
