Major Dubai roads near completion

DUBAI: Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced that 86 per cent of works under the First Contract of the Improvement of Latifa Bint Hamdan and Umm Al Sheef streets project had been completed, adding that the contract would be completed in the final quarter of 2018.

He also unveiled that the completion rate had reached up to 60 per cent in the second contract of the project, which would be delivered in the first quarter of 2019.

The project that links Jumeirah with Al Khail Road and the parallel roads (First Al Khail Road and Al Asayel street), has a cost tag of Dhs800 million.

The contractor has already completed construction works in all bridges.

Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to carry on with the construction of roads and transportation projects to cope with the upswing and demographic expansion of Dubai and the drive to bring happiness to people.
