Serbia seeks more investment from UAE

DUBAI: Igor Mirovic, President of the Government of Vojvodina, Republic of Serbia who was on an official Visit to UAE was co hosted by Mulk Holdings and Diplomats Club at a high profile event in Emirates Towers attending by members of the Royal family , Diplomats and high profile business community.

President Igor in his opening address  sees cooperation with UAE in agriculture, technology sectors and manufacturing  and said, “We are expecting more investment from the UAE investors in the near future in the fields of agriculture, technologies, free zones and industrial zones.”

The event was attended by Djordje Milicevic, Vice President of the Government of Vojvodina along with representatives of various countries counsel generals and the top UAE business dignitaries.

Igor hailed the networking dinner as a platform to make more business relations with various public and private entities in the region.

He said that the trade relations between the two countries have improved after the first visit of the President of Serbia to the UAE in 2013. In our recent meetings we have discussed various new avenues of mutual cooperation with the UAE Ministry of Economy and local business leaders.

He added that Serbia offers easy investment opportunities to global investors and Vojvodina is playing a key role by attracting investment. We also held very fruitful meetings with different stakeholders during the recently concluded Annual Investment Meeting 2018 and are very satisfied with the response Serbia is getting from the UAE business community.

Igor further said that we are in discussion with one of the UAE’s big companies to invest in our port and we are going to announce the deal in next few months.

About Serbia’s tourism sector, he said that our tourism industry has witnessed 10 per cent growth due to easy visa process and the arrival of the GCC tourists have increased in recent times.

The chairman of Mulk Holdings in his speech said,“ We are one of the first companies in UAE to invest in Serbia and chose Serbia as our European headquarters due to the governments conducive policies and free trade agreements with the European Union , East Europe , Turkey and Russian block . We are committed to invest in Serbia and current expansion includes setting up of an ultra modern coil coating line and A2  grade facade panels manufacturing line.”

Javed Malik the chairman  and founder of the Diplomats Club welcomed The President and the delegation ,members of the Royal Family , diplomats and the business fraternity . Malik also felicitated The President and dignitaries  and welcomed Mr. Mulk to the Board of Diplomats Club .

The Diplomat Business Club is a forum that provides a platform to connect people from different countries and creates opportunities for them to expand their business and professional horizons.

Esmaeil Hassan Rahideh, Group Director Legal Affairs and Communications at Mulk Holdings, stated that Serbia offers huge opportunities to investors for establishing new businesses. The country also provides an easy platform to access the wider European market.

He added that our facility has grown manifold in recent years and the company’s ongoing expansion plan will make Mulk Holdings the largest FR A2 Core manufacturer in the world as well in addition to the global position of facade panels .
