ABU DHABI: Anirudh Padmanaban and Abhishek Prakash played leading roles in guiding Abu Dhabi Indian School to the Abu Dhabi inter-school tournament Under-14 semi-final.
Padmanaban played the captain’s knock, scoring 90 not out to put up a challenging 218 for six on the board before Prakash delivered with the ball by taking five wickets for 20 runs to lead them to a 64-run win over the Emirates Future International at the Nursery Oval.
ADIS were in a bit of a spot after Bakhtamir Khan sent a delivery crashing against the stumps to get rid of the in-form Justin D’Souza for two while Afhshain Ahmed trapped one-drop Sanjeel Dhuri (3) to leave them at 20 for two.
Padmanaban and Jonathan Figy, the opener, rebuilt the innings with a 131-run stand for the fourth wicket.
Owais Khan broke the stand by trapping Figy for 37 and removed Aakarsh Krishnakumar (3) nine runs later. Padmanaban, who hit 11 boundaries in his 66-ball knock, still managed to hold the inning together.
