DUBAI/WARSAW: Poland is an important market for Dubai and the wider UAE, especially in the cosmetic industry, with several Polish manufacturers conducting business through the gateway of Dubai.

Poland’s Undersecretary of State, Grazyna Henclewska, during the week spoke to ‘The Gulf Today in Warsaw, underlining the fact that Poland was the only country in the EU that kept the GDP increase even during the most recent recession. Henclewska also pointed out that Poland is forecasted to continue its steady development in the nearest future.

At the same time, local Beauty Forum & SPA cosmetic fair was conducted for visiting international cosmetic buyers, including the UAE.

The tour was organised through SPC House of Media and it’s work is supported by Trade and Investments Department, at the Polish Embassies all over the world.

It is often said that Poland has been a key trade and investment destination serving as a key gateway into select European markets while Dubai is Poland’s door to markets across the Middle East, Asia and Africa as it offers a safe and stable base in the high-growth Middle East region.

Over the years, Poland has become one of the fastest growing economies in Europe. Poland which is not as yet member of the Euro zone, has been playing a similar role like that of the UAE to create a network of global business partners as the country is a major gateway to the European region and also considered to be the sixth largest economy in the European continent.

The wide programme of the tour included also a conference, where the latest data on the industry was presented. In 2013, Poland managed to retain its strong position as the 6th biggest European cosmetic exporter, noting once again an increase of export rates by 5 per cent, comparing to 2012.
