DUBAI: Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has toured the International Emergency and Catastrophe Management Conference and Exhibition (IECM) and the Dubai International Humanitarian Aid & Development Exhibition.
The events, being held under the supervision of the UN at the Dubai World Trade Centre, witnessed the participation of 66 countries, including the UAE. Sheikh Mohammed praised the efforts of relief organisations inspired by Emiratis.
Sheikh Mohammed and his accompanying delegation toured exhibits and were briefed on a number of pavilions’ humanitarian and relief missions and the charitable works provided as per the directives of the wise leadership aimed at ensuring that aid is provided to all the people across the world who are exposed to natural disasters, homelessness, hunger and other calamities.
During his tour, Sheikh Mohammed hailed the participation of Emirati national humanitarian and charitable organisations in a number of local and international events to highlight their humanitarian role by providing assistance to all the needy people across the globe, irrespective of geographical or religious affiliations.
Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied by Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group, Prince El Hassan Bin Talal of Jordan, Chairman West Asia-North Africa (WANA) Institute.
During the visit, Sheikh Mohammed was also accompanied by Abdul Rahman Bin Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Health, Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Director-General of His Highness the Ruler’s Court of Dubai, Lt. General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chairman of Police and General Security in Dubai and other senior officials.
