DUBAI: The Orange County is one of the first US destinations, that has opened an office in Dubai in order to explore business and investment avenues across the Emirate.

This was stated by Ed Fuller, President and CEO of Orange County Visitors Association (OCVA), California, during an exclusive interview recently to the Gulf Today.

“Our mission is to reach out personally to potential visitors and build awareness of Orange County, California, as a premier travel destination,” he added.

Fuller noted that this summer there was an obvious and visible increase in visitors from the GCC to Orange County. The experience for both visitors and the local communities has been overwhelmingly positive.

So much so that we even saw a number of GCC visitors buying OC apartments and villas.

“We want our Middle Eastern guests to enjoy the OC not only for a season, but throughout the year. To encourage visitation we have launched the OC & ME campaign to extend right through until the end of May 2016. And with the launch of the new ‘Own a Piece of Paradise’ package, we hope visitors will even stay longer and become residents.”

Ed Fuller, together with representatives from Visit Anaheim and Fairmont Newport Beach, visited UAE and and Qatar for a series of strategic meetings and promotional activities to attract and increase the number of Middle Eastern visitors to the heart of Southern California.

A key highlight of the mission was the official consumer launch of ‘The OC & ME’ campaign which targets families and shopping enthusiasts with complimentary VIP shopping experiences and thousands of dollars-worth of discounts and added value services. The campaign has been given a boost with Etihad Holidays combining the campaign with specially-priced fly and stay offers.

In addition to “The OC & ME’ packages, OCVA  also launched a new campaign, the first of its kind for the region, called The OC & Sotheby’s ‘Own a Piece of Paradise’ Holiday Package, which offers potential investors not only the shopping advantages of the OC & ME Campaign, but includes complimentary tailored tours of Orange County’s premier luxury condominiums, apartments and villas that are available for purchase.
