ABU DHABI: A new edition of the book ‘With United Strength: Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan: The Leader and the Nation’ has recently been published in German.

The publication of this edition is part of the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research’s interest in the history of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his experience in life and as a ruler. It is also aimed at reviving Sheikh Zayed’s legacy of values and principles on patriotism and sense of belonging.

The first edition of the book was released in 2004 in both Arabic and English and was published in seven more languages: Korean, Italian, French, Montenegrin, Russian, Urdu and German.

The book explores Sheikh Zayed’s successful experience and shows how his creative thinking stemmed from his experiences in life. It focuses on the idea wherein the country’s development plans took a period five decades.

The book provides a reading of a firm’s political line committed by the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan through Abu Dhabi’s history and stages of development, leading to the birth and progress of the UAE.

The book emphasizes that the development of Abu Dhabi in particular and the UAE in general cannot be seen in isolation from Sheikh Zayed’s overall idealistic political vision.

This vision is evident in his constant interest in achieving individual happiness and social well-being, his preoccupation with formulating an integrated concept of political unity and his interest in the environment and natural resources. These three elements grew in Sheikh Zayed’s policy in a systematic and time-bound manner.

In conclusion the book talks about Sheikh Zayed who left a legacy to which all nations aspire: peace, freedom, success and happiness.
