Aldona, Cansaulim and Siolim teams in Goan soccer semis

DUBAI: Aldona United will clash with CAC Cansaulim while FC Siolim will meet Siolim United in the semifinal of the of the 9th All Goa Inter-village Soccer 2013 being played at the Iranian Stadium in Dubai.

In the quarter-finals, Aldona United got the better of FC Bardes, Siolim United ousted Nuvem Al Seer, CAC Cansaulim beat Candolim FC and FC Siolim edged past Mapusa.

Incidentally all the quarter-final matches were decided via the penalty shootout.

Siolim United and Nuvem Al Seer shared two goals and Siolim United and Mapusa ended 1-1 during the regulation time while Aldona-Bardes and Cansaulim-Candolim were goalless.

The Aldona-Bardes match saw all the 11 players featuring in the shoot-out. Agnelo (Aggie) saw his kick saved to pave way for Aldona to make it to the last four.

In the Plate Cup semis Vanxim Divar will meet St Anthony’s Guirim and ABC Benaulim clash with Royal Friends Ambelim with the winners clashing in the final on Sept.20.
