UAE participates in ATMC meeting in Cairo

DUBAI/CAIRO: The UAE has participated in the 20th edition of the Arab Tourism Ministers Council (ATMC), held today at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, under the presidency of Palestine and with the presence of Arab tourism ministers or their representatives.

The UAE delegation was led by Mohammed Khamis Al Muhairi, Ministry of Economy Advisor for Tourism Affairs, and included Saleh Mohammed Al Jazairi, Director-General of the Tourism Development Department in Ajman, and Ahmed Al Rayes, Representative of the National Tourism Programme.

Al Muhairi said that the participation of representatives of Arab tourism ministries in today’s meeting reflects their desire to work together to shape a better future for Arab tourism and promote cooperation, to enhance the role of the tourism sector in supporting Arab economies with new sources of income, as well as to achieve diversity, competitiveness and sustainable growth.

In his speech, he added that the tourism has proven to be a major cornerstone of economic and social development in various countries while stressing that the sector is witnessing ongoing annual growth.
