Watch break-dancing performances to the tune of barrels, pots, trash cans

DUBAI: Residents in Dubai and Northern Emirates are gearing up to fulfil their shopping bucket to beat the last-minute rush at the malls ahead of the Eid Al Adha falling next week.

In this regard, Mercato sets the scene for a fantastic fun-filled Eid celebration. Visitors are flocking to Mercato to shop, be entertained and enjoy the various events and promotions.

To make the Eid shopping more fun, the visitor will celebrate a musical festival with family and friends at Mercato.

Indulge in great shopping offers in a wide range of shops and when you spend Dhs200 from 16th until 25th August at Mercato or Town Centre you could be one of the lucky winners of great prizes worth Dhs2,000 daily from your favourite brands at both malls.

Hosting an exciting lineup of music and dance related entertainment, Mercato visitors will be able to enjoy dance and music performances on stage such as flamenco, comedy jazz with mime artists and a music box ballerina.

The mall will play host to a one of a kind street show performance that includes hip hop and break-dancing performances on the beats of drummers using barrels, pots and trash cans.

In addition, your little ones can get creative at the mall’s engaging music and dance workshops where they will learn how to play a variety of instruments including drums and percussion. They will also be taught hip hop dance moves and techniques.

Extended hours

Majid Al Futtaim, the leading shopping mall, communities, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East, Africa and Asia, will celebrate Eid Al Adha with extending shopping hours from Sunday, August 19 till Friday, August 31, starting from 10am until 2am. Shoppers will be able to enjoy the extra hours to explore in-mall entertainment and shopping experiences, including an exciting line-up of family-oriented events and incredible offers, discounts and promotions.

To accommodate families during the busy back to school rush, additional hours of shopping will be implemented starting Saturday, September 1 till Thursday, September 13 from 10am until 12am with discounts on fashions and essentials for the new school year.

The malls with the extended hours include Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Deira, City Centre Mirdif, City Centre Me’aisem, City Centre Al Shindaga, City Centre Fujairah and My City Centre Al Barsha.
