SHARJAH: Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council (SMC) and other members of the Council have thanked His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his constant support to the media sector and the Council’s efforts to develop a positive media climate in the emirate in line with its core values.

Sheikh Al Qasimi also welcomed the appointment of Hassan Yaqoub Al Mansouri as Secretary-General of the SMC under Emiri Decree No. 67 of 2017 issued by Sheikh Sultan. This came during the Council’s latest meeting, chaired by Sheikh Sultan Al Qasimi and attended by Dr. Khalid Omar Al Madfa, Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Tariq Saeed Allay and Hassan Yaqoub Al Mansouri.

Sheikh Al Qasimi reaffirmed the keenness of the SMC to implement the directives of Sheikh Sultan and work towards strengthening its role in constructive development and fulfilment of its responsibilities in the interests of the emirate and the nation. The SMC, in its commitment and with its programmes and objectives, complements Sharjah’s cultural and intellectual message. Its strategy is based on the main media objectives of the UAE.
