SHARJAH: The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) has completed the overall maintenance of the bridge of the second intersection on Al Dhaid Road and fully opened it to traffic, at a cost of Dhs3m.

On the other hand, SRTA has declared that the Sharjah ring road at the industrial area 17 will be partially closed for four months.

The Authority said it aimed to improve the efficiency of roads, bridges and tunnels and to ensure their sustainability, through applying the international best practices and standards of maintenance within specific time.

Engineer Eman Amin Al Hajri, Deputy Director of Maintenance Department, said, “The bridge of intersection 2 is an important for neighboring areas’ goers. In order to evade the complete closure of the bridge during the maintenance, we used the German system when replacing the joints.
