DUBAI: An increasing appetite by UAE consumers for dining out, coupled with a boost in tourism has led one of the UAE’s longest established malls to significantly increase its Food and Beverage offering.

Al Ghurair Centre located in Deira, has launched the Dining District, a dedicated area within the mall, offering a multitude of global cuisines including Asian, South American, Indian, Western and Arabic.
The designated district is located on the mall’s ground floor and spans over 91,549 Square feet, enabling it to accommodate up to 3,344 people, and thus making it one of the largest gastronomic destinations in the city.
The surge in its F&B proposition aligns with the growing UAE trend for retail malls to offer a multitude of cuisines and dining experiences, from fast food through to healthy and family-focused dining options.
This holds true to the most recent report from international property consultants, CBRE, which highlighted that UAE residents are the third biggest spenders on food and beverage worldwide, with 60 per cent of consumers visiting a mall purely to eat or drink. It pointed out that the main difference between the UAE and other markets is that many more consumers here see retail as a pastime, with the Food and Beverage element considered a key part of the experience.
It also indicated the growing trend for mall visitors to seek out healthy options as well as new and innovative concepts.
