Group of employees wins $1 million DDF lottery

DUBAI: Ten employees of Al Futtaim Trading Enterprise got lucky after scooping $1 million cash prize at Tuesday’s DDF Millennium Millionaire and Finest Surprise promotions held at Concourse B in Terminal 3 of Dubai International Airport.

Gurmeet Singh, a 38-year-old Indian national based in Dubai, bought his lucky ticket no.1197 online in Series 280 on 18th July.

A participant in the promotion for a year now, Singh decided for the first time to share the cost of the ticket along with his nine other colleagues (Indian, Bangladeshi and Filipinos) and purchased the ticket where all agreed to split the prize if they ever win. A resident of Dubai for 16 years, Singh, a showroom manager at Dubai Festival City branch couldn’t contain his excitement upon hearing the news and commented, “I always believe that promotion like this does works, Dubai Duty Free is indeed full of surprises. Thank you Dubai Duty Free for this magical moment.”

The draw was conducted by Colm McLoughlin, Executive Vice Chairman and CEO, Salah Tahlak, Executive Vice President – Corporate Services, Sinead El Sibai, Senior Vice President – Marketing and Mona Al Ali, Vice President – HR Service Delivery.

Following the Millennium Millionaire draw, a presentation was made to previous winner, Antoine Labaky, who won in Series 279 with ticket number 3277.
