RAS AL KHAIMAH: A UAE woman, Amna Bint Ahmed Arar from Abu Dhabi, donated Dhs7.2m to construct a new mosque in one of the new districts in the Khalifa City area of Ras Al Khaimah.

The new mosque is regarded as one of the biggest five mosques in the emirate.

Mohammed Saif Al Awaid, supervisor of the mosque construction project, said the capacity of the mosque was 1,150 people, with an area of 50,000 square feet, making it one of the largest mosques in the emirate.

The mosque also includes integrated facilities and comprehensive services, including the main hall for prayer, a space for 150 women, and its own facilities such as the ablution space, a Quran memorisation centre, a library, a courtyard, a housing place for the Imam and another for the muezzin, bathrooms, and water tanks. Al Awaid added that there was a plan to establish a private park for the mosque, in coordination with the competent bodies.
