ABU DHABI: Abu Dhabi University (ADU), an internationally recognised centre for quality education and applied research, has received recognition for leading-edge work conducted by its students following their recent participation at the Fourth International Conference on Chemical Materials and Process (ICCMP), held in May at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand.

The students from ADU’s College of Engineering were honoured with an award for ‘best presentation and idea’ for their contribution at a workshop held in parallel with the main ICCMP conference. Their innovative research is scheduled to be published, along with other outstanding presentations at the event, in the MATEC Web of Conferences (ISSN 2261-236X) journal.

Speaking on the accolade, Dr Waqar Ahmed, Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University, said: “Our participation at ICCMP, and its successful outcome in the form of a scientific publication, testifies to ADU’s growing international reputation as a centre of excellence in research. We are very proud of this achievement that demonstrates the quality of the advanced research being conducted by the high calibre staff, faculty and students within our vibrant and productive university community. ADU will continue to play an active role in such international conferences as we expand our research capability, thereby nurturing our students, and building on our existing collaborative partnerships around the world.”

An annual event held this year from May 23 to 25, ICCMP has established itself as a leading global forum for expert practitioners and researchers working in the most advanced fields of study related to theoretical and practical aspects of the chemical materials and processes field.
