Pantene Bridal Couture Week organised by Style360 kicked off to a rollicking start, in Karachi, Pakistan, and carried on for three days. The event showcased striking ensembles by designers from different parts of the world.
Since its inception in 1996, Shawana Afzal’s brainchild, Lajwanti, has grown to become one of the biggest brands in bridal couture and prêt business in Pakistan. With participation in more than 30 shows around the world, Lajwanti reserves the credit for numerous milestone achievements in the Pakistani fashion industry. Lajwanti bagged the Best Bridal Designer Award 2002 in the Bride and Groom Show held in India.
Mifrah Gul has made a mark among the fashion fraternity as a designer since her arrival on the scene in 2001. Her unique and exquisite designs have captured the imagination of both men and women nationwide. Her design philosophy focuses on combining striking cuts with the breathtaking effects of rich embellishments. Inspired by vintage apparel and brought to life by sheer chiffons, elegant satin, luxurious silk and dazzling sequins, her designs open up a world of opulence and grace.
Nadya Mistry is one of Pakistan’s most innovative designers, who has been making momentous fashion waves within the Pakistani fashion industry since 1997 when she launched her design career in Pakistan. Mistry has various labels: the high-end couture label, Nadya Mistry Paris Karachi; the ready-to- wear, Future par Nadya Mistry, the wedding line, Nadya Mistry Bridals and the menswear line, Mistry MAN. She also introduced her hand-woven silk fabric line in 2004 and has now expanded its range by making it available to foreign markets.

Deepak’s fashion house carries both menswear and womenswear lines. He designs a couture line, ‘Deepak Perwani,’ and an evening line for women, ‘Decadence.’ ‘D Philosophy’ is Deepak’s prêt label. He is equally comfortable in producing award-winning eastern wear as he is in cutting-edge western designs. He has been instrumental in not only modernising Pakistan’s fashion, but also the aesthetic sensibilities of its people.
Deepak has a talent for spotting splendour in the simplest local creations, be it the humble dastarkhan or the rilli, and elevating them to high fashion through the strength of his designs.
