New search engine promises safe content to users in Arab World

DUBAI: A new web search engine which will benefit users in the Arab world with filtered content is all set to see the grand launch in Dubai next month.

This was stated by Abdel Rahman Tahboub, media adviser and CEO of the projects in an exclusive interview with The Gulf Today on Friday.

“YaArabi is all set to be launched in Dubai in the first week of March with the aim of providing content to the end-users with great satisfaction. This search engine comes to fill the gap and the imbalance in the knowledge content related to Arab world web, as the Arab content is not exceeding even 1 per cent of the total information available on the Internet,” he explained.

“The new search engine will be launched with the collaboration of Zenith Watches, Mena Region and the launch will be held in the presence of a group of heads of universities, research centres and the departments related to strategic matter and Islamic affairs in the Arab world as well as the Arab institutions dealing with cultural affairs and knowledge in the region,” Tahboub added.

George Bachar, a top official of the firm, said that the support for the new search engine is aimed at protecting the Arab content available on the Internet and provide safe and high moral content to local users especially the young generation.

Tahboub said that YaArabi will be a complete filtered search engine with no indecent text, images,and other contents.

“Through the YaArabi, the users will have the opportunity to target only Moral and Informative websites. Today, in the age of technology, people demand easy access to information,” he said.
