Ministry declares setting up of new association

SHARJAH: In compliance with Ministerial Resolution No. 19 of 2018, the UAE Ministry of Community Development (MoCD) has announced the establishment of the ‘Emirates Library and Information Association’ (ELIA) in Sharjah Publishing City, a non-profit organisation concerned with the affairs of libraries, information, documentation, archiving, manuscripts and the relevant personnel in the UAE.

The new association aims to enhance coordination between libraries and all information centres across the country, while elevating and developing the professional and technical skills of library personnel.
