Dubai Police honour social media influencers

DUBAI: On behalf of the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, Major General Mohammed Saeed Al-Marri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of Community Happiness and Logistics, honoured a number of social media influencers for their contribution to the success of the 13th International Forum on Drug Issues “Hemaya”, which was organised by the Department of International Training Service from March 12 to 13.

He praised the media’s efforts and cooperation with the Dubai Police General Headquarters through the conferences and forums held by the Dubai Police annually and their active participation in the Hemaya Forum, stressing the importance of their role in guiding and protecting the society and its values and traditions. Al Marri said, “The media’s role can be either positive or negative. Therefore, we must take positive measures that preserve the generations and limit the crime and the negative behaviours that could affect us in social communication from time to time.”

Lt. Col. Dr. Abdurrahman Sharaf Al Ma’amari, Director of the International Training Service, praised the effectiveness of the social networking channels and the impact of this phenomenon on the media, which affects the society either negatively or positively. He also expressed his sincere thanks to the public figures in recognition of their role in the success of the Hemaya initiative, wishing them success in their respective careers.

Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Vice President of Police and Public Security in Dubai, Chairman of the Emirates Association for Talented, recently chaired the association’s periodical meeting.

Many topics relevant to the development of the association’s work and performance, as well as suggestions regarding the improvement of the whole association’s mechanism were discussed during the meeting.
