Mohammed holds talks with journalists

DUBAI: Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum met on Tuesday with members of the recently elected Board of the UAE Journalists Association chaired by Mohammed Al Hamadi on the sidelines of the Ramadan Gathering hosted by the Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO).

Sheikh Mohammed congratulated the new Board members and wished them success in their endeavours.

Sheikh Mohammed also donated Dhs5 million to the Association.

He praised the role of the Association in supporting journalists and media.

Sheikh Mohammed called on the Association’s Board of Directors to double its efforts to help raise professional standards so that they can enhance public trust in media as a credible source of information.

The Chairman of the Board of the UAE Journalists Association Mohammed Al Hamadi thanked Sheikh Mohammed for his continuous support as well as his generous donation, adding that the newly elected Board will work to enhance levels of excellence in local media through its work with media organisations in the UAE. The meeting was attended by Director General of GDMO Mona Ghanem Al Marri.
