SHARJAH: Powered by the $3.1 trillion construction projects planned or under way in the GCC region, the International Concrete Conference & Exhibition (ICCX Middle East 2017) made its debut at Expo Centre Sharjah on Sunday.

The first ICCX Middle East 2017 was inaugurated by Marwan Jassim Al Sarkal, will run for two full days and conclude on Monday.

More than 1,000 professionals are expected to attend the event that is being held under the patronage of Marwan Jassim Al Sarkal, CEO of Sharjah Investment & Development Authority (Shurooq), and Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah.

In cooperation with the German Emirati Joint Council for Industry & Commerce (AHK), Germany’s ad-media GmbH is organising the ICCX Middle East 2017, featuring more than 100 exhibitors and presenting the regional industry a one of its kind event for the Middle East that is dedicated to concrete and precast products, technology and solutions.

“We are proud to host the first ICCX Middle East at Expo Centre Sharjah. Catering exclusively to concrete and precast products, ICCX is a first of its kind event being held in Sharjah. The UAE has a strong cement industry and with demand remaining buoyant on the back of increasing infrastructure projects, the event will be a boon for local and regional players,” said Saif Mohamed Al Midfa, CEO Expo Centre Sharjah.
