SHARJAH: Half centuries by Adnan Arif and Nashwan Nasir propelled Team Interface to an impressive 25-run victory over Nucaf Tellicherry in the 39th Bukhatir League ‘A’ Division Tournament organized by the Sharjah Cricket Council.

Choosing to bat first, Team Interface were in command from the word go with openers Fahad Tariq and Arif sharing a 74-run for the opening wicket.

Tariq faced only 37 balls during his 42 runs consisting of three boundaries and one six, while Arif was slower consuming 84 deliveries to reach a well made 54 with the help of five boundaries.

Pranav Arora (18) and Waseem Bari (26) kept the scoreboard ticking but it was a classy innings down the line by Nasir and Fawad Ghafoor that swelled the total for Team Interface.

Nasir scored a blistering 66 from only 47 balls with six hits to the fence and two over it while Ghafoor hit a 28-ball 31 with a lone boundary and a six.

They shared a brilliant 64-run stand for the eighth wicket to ensure Team Interface posted a handsome 282 for nine in 50 overs.

Nucaf Tellicherry’s chase was equally poised with Babar Ali leading the fightback smashing a superb 85 from 93 deliveries peppered with five boundaries and one six.

It further gathered momentum when Waqas Ahmed (30, 50b, 1x4) and Nazi Khan (44, 53b, 4x4, 2x6) came up with crucial knocks but Ibthisam Mohammad bowled well when it mattered to claim three wickets as Nucaf Tellicherry fell short to end their innings at 257 for eight in 50 overs.

Bari was the other successful bowler scalping two wickets in his seven overs for Team Interface.
