DUBAI: Al Ahli became the only team with an all-win record at the end of the fourth round of the 2013 UAE Beach Soccer League held under the auspices of the Dubai Sports Council at the Al Mamzar Beach Park over the weekend.

Al Ahli made it four out of four wins with a 6-4 victory over Ajman Club on Saturday, while Al Shabab kept themselves in the race for the second spot in Group A with a 5-0 thrashing of winless Dibba Al Hisn.

Earlier on Friday, Al Nasr fought off a hardy Ittihad Kalba to win 7-4, while Fujairah Club secured an upset 7-5 win over Al Wasl in the two Group B matches.

Al Ahli now leads Group A with 12 points followed by Ajman and Al Shabab with six points each, while Dibba Al Hisn is yet to secure a point.

Friday’s win put Al Nasr at the top of Group B with nine points followed by Al Wasl and Fujairah Club with six points each and Ittihad Kalba at the bottom with three points.

Al Ahli was served well by a brace each from Joao Vitorio Madjer and Rashid Hassan, while Mohammad Ahmad and skipper Kambhar Mohammad got one apiece. Hassan Ali scored two and Ahmad Beshir and Adnan Abdul Rahman bagged one each for Ajman Club.

Al Nasr woke up late to avenge their first round loss to Ittihad Kalba with a 7-4 result to bag full points . Down 0-3 at the end of the opening period, Al Nasr made it 2-3 by the end of the second and then went on a scoring spree to bag maximum points. Al Nasr had Mohammad Ahmad, their new Iranian national team striker to thank as he scored a hat-trick while Lebanese Haitham Khattal battled a left groin strain to score two goals and Ali Khuzad and Ali Karim got one each for the Royal Blues. Fujairah relied on four goals from Oman national team striker Khalid Bin Khamis to stun Al Wasl 7-5 in the second match of the day.

The weekend results throw Group B wide open with Al Nasr staying the race for the top spot with nine points while Al Wasl and Fujairah are tied in second with six points each and Ittihad Kalba at the bottom with three points.

The 2013 UAE Beach Soccer League had taken a break of more than a month and a half to enable the UAE national team to participate in the Asian leg qualifiers for the 2013 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Tahiti that were held in Doha last month.

The UAE went on to beat Australia 3-2 in the third place play-off and seal their rightful place for the Tahiti Beach Soccer World Cup.
