Sharjah: Under the guidance of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the Ministry of Education (MoE) has decided to name two schools in Sharjah after the late Taryam Omran and Dr Abdullah Omran Taryam, founders of Dar Al Khaleej.
The move was in recognition of their role in nation-building and in acknowledgement of their efforts towards the growth of the homeland. It is expected that the new names would formally come into effect within a week.
Minister of Education Humaid Bin Mohammed Al Qattami said that naming two schools after Taryam Omran and Dr Abdullah Omran was a gesture of gratitude for their pioneering efforts and their accomplishments.
The minister especially highlighted the contribution in the political field by Taryam Omran during his presidency of the National Council and during his tenure as the UAE Ambassador to Egypt. He also paid tribute to the key role in national development by Dr Abdullah Omran, who accomplished a lot when he was in charge of the Ministries of Education and Justice.
Qattami has affirmed that the Taryams were also instrumental in forming a great institution for the Arab media, namely Dar Al Khaleej, which has contributed to the dynamic advancement of the media and promoted the cause of Arab and Islamic nations.
