Capital’s Dhaheri grabs podium finish at Parolin Academy Championship

ABU DHABI: Merely one week after Rashid Al Dhaheri finished second in the 2015 Parolin Academy Championship, the Emirati schoolboy was back in action as brought his Italian season to a close in fine style by finishing third in the prestigious Parolin Finale Internazionale Championkart in Adria on Sunday.

Wet and tricky conditions added to the challenges during the course of the weekend in Adria, where the top Parolin drivers from around the world gathered for the season finale.

Nevertheless Dhaheri, one of the youngest drivers in the field, was constantly on the sharp end of the action in the very competitive Academy class.

He managed to secure fourth place on the grid for the final race of the season, then delivered a strong performance to claim third place and yet another podium finish -- his fifth in succession, always flying the UAE flag.

Speaking at the end of the season in Italy, Rashid’s father, Ali Al Dhaheri said, “Another great weekend where Rashid scored another podium finish after a tough battle with his international rivals and with it bringing an end to what has been a tremendous season for our boy.

We are very proud of his development and achievements.”
