Al Sadiq School beat Gulf Indian School in inaugural tie

DUBAI: The First Al Sadiq Nissan Inter School Under-10 cricket tournament began in the Al Sadiq Islamic School playground on Tuesday.

The guest of honour was Aqib Javed, UAE National team coach and the former Test cricketer from Pakistan.

The main sponsor Nissan’s Sports Division Manager Fatima Vally with other guests Mazhar Khan, the administrator of the Emirates Cricket Board and Ali Anwar, Member Sharjah Cricket Council graced the occasion.

Tajammul, the Principal welcomed the guests and the parents.

In the inaugural match Al Sadiq School defeated Gulf India High School by 114 runs.

Gulf Indian High School won the toss and decided to field.

Al Sadiq piled on huge total of 160/4 in 15 overs.

The openers Majid and Bilal gathered 99 runs for the first wicket partnership. Majid scored 48 runs. Captain Zahid at one down smashed quick 49 runs. In reply, Gulf Indian High School could manage to reach 46 runs all out.
