ABU DHABI: A model of the Sheikh Zayed Mosque will be put on display at the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia, according to a recently signed agreement between the Sheikh Zayed Mosque Centre and the Kuala Lumpur-based institution.
A MoU was signed between Ali Bin Tameem, Chairman of the Board of the Centre and Sayed Mohammed Al-Bukhari, the curator of the museum in presence of the UAE ambassador to Malaysia Nasser Al Abboudi and Rose Mahwati, director of administrative affairs at the museum.
The Sheikh Zayed Mosque will be the first temporary mosque on display at the museum.
In December 1998, Malaysia became home to Southeast Asia’s largest museum of Islamic art, which also has a library of Islamic-art books.
