DUBAI: The Dubai Public Prosecution charged a 31-year-old Gulf visitor with possessing 101.30kg of psychotropic substances containing 587,882 tablets of amphetamine for trafficking purposes.
The General Directorate of the Anti-Narcotics Department received reliable information that the defendant possessed a quantity of (Captagon) pills for trafficking purposes.
After checking the information, a team from the Anti-Narcotics Department moved to one of the hotels in Dubai.
They arrested the suspect after they found a bag containing four tablets containing narcotics in his possession.
The team went with the accused to his residence.
After inspecting it, nothing was found.
After searching his car, three bags containing 300 bags each weighing 51.7 kg, contained 299,988 tablets containing amphetamines.
This was in addition to 236 bags weighing 40.90 kg, containing 237,389 tablets of the same substance, and 50 other bags weighing 8.70 kg, containing 50,507 tablets of the same substance.
