Heavy rain in parts of country

ABU DHABI: Heavy showers and strong dusty winds lashed various parts of the UAE on Saturday afternoon.

Shouka-Wadi Heliow Road, Mleiha, the southeastern region in Sharjah, Al Dhaid area, Sheikh Khalifa Road in the eastern region, Fujairah-Sharjah Road, and Manama area in Ajman were affected.

The rain hit the horizontal visibility in most of the areas, according to the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS).

The NCMS expects the weather on Sunday to be hot to very hot, dusty in general and partly cloudy at times in some areas.

The cumulus clouds may tower over the eastern and southern parts in the afternoon.

This may also extend to the inland areas with chances of some rain.

The winds will be light to moderate, active occasionally raising dust and dirt, as visibility could be affected, the NCMS said. The relative humidity was expected to increase during Saturday night and on Sunday morning, especially along the western parts.

The maximum temperatures on Sunday are expected to reach 46˚C in Abu Dhabi, 44˚C in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Al Ain, 43˚C in Ras Al Khaimah and 36 in Fujairah, according to the NCMS.
