ABU DHABI: Major General Staff Pilot Ishaq Saleh Al-Balushi, Head of the Executive Directorate of Industries and Development of Defence Capabilities at the Ministry of Defence, has said that the UAE is a global leader in hosting defence exhibitions through the organisation of Umex, Idex and Dubai Airshow, which are considered the biggest specialised defence exhibitions on an international scale.

In a statement to the Emirates News Agency, Wam, Al-Balushi said, “The UAE has transformed defence exhibitions into an industry in itself, which contributes to supporting the industrial and commercial sectors. This is reflected in the participation and growth of the Umex and SimTEX exhibitions in each cycle.
