DUBAI: The Roads and Transport Authority, RTA, has activated the pilot phase of paid parking in Dubai’s bustling JLT district on Monday. The authority will issue no fines to the residents on failing to pay the parking fees for a period of two week until the public get to know that the service has been activated.

The visitors will be required to pay parking fees in the area through smart services via the RTA DUBAI App and through text message.

The fees will be charged at a rate of Dhs4 per hour according to newly demarcated parking zones, from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm from Saturday to Thursday. Premium parking will be provided at a rate of Dhs10 per hour for a maximum of 3 hours, the RTA said.
