Dubai: As many as seven detainees, one man and six women at the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Institutions of Dubai Police have converted to Islam, in the presence of the Central Prison Administration and the Department of Education and Training of Guests. This was performed under the supervision of Dubai Shari’a Courts’ preacher Saud Ahmed Abdul Aziz.

The revertees have also been honoured with certificates and gifts, along with a booklet that reads in several languages.

The seven new Muslims expressed their desire to convert to Islam as a result of the kind treatment they had received from the staff in prison. They explained how the Dubai Police have always guided and supported detainees of both sexes to become good individuals.

They affirmed that they were briefed on a series of booklets which spoke about the tolerance of Islam, and virtues of the religion. They also emphasised the fact that embracing Islam came out of their own will, while surrendering themselves to the Almighty, and accepting that He is the only one to be worshipped.
