RAS AL KHAIMAH: An Emirati man, Ali Ahmed Ibrahim Al Shehhi, was killed after a car ran over him while crossing a road on Wednesday night. Ali, who was a director of Dubai Islamic Bank’s branch in Khuzam, Ras Al Khaimah, was killed while returning to his work place after performing Isha prayers at a mosque.

Mohammed Ibrahimu Al-Shehhi, a brother of the deceased, said that the 35-year-old Ali had booked to perform Umrah and was due to travel on Thursday. “The fatal accident, which occurred opposite his work place, cut short his planned Umrah trip. He was also expecting a newborn soon. He is survived by two sons aged 8 and 6,” said Mohammed.
