KATHMANDU: An Emirati field hospital arrived on Thursday in Kathmandu to provide medical care to victims of the earthquakes which recently struck Nepal.

A team of Emirati medical volunteers discussed plans with officials at Kathmandu university hospitals to operate the field hospital and enlist volunteer medical staff to ensure providing medical services to the widest range of people seeking medical care.

Dr Adil Al Shamri, who heads the Emirati team, said the field hospital is equipped to provide the finest healthcare services from specialists trained in emergency care, family medicine, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, ENT and orthopaedics, in addition to medical services such as an intensive care unit, a surgery, a laboratory and a pharmacy.
