ABU DHABI: The Adnoc Research and Development Academic Conference (Ardac), the first Middle East conference that is fully dedicated to Industrial Academia papers, will take place at The Westin Abu Dhabi Golf Resort and SPA from Feb.26-28.
More than 20 universities from UAE, USA, Europe, Asia and the Middle East are coming together to Abu Dhabi to present the latest researches. The attendees for this conference are estimated to be more than 1000 people.
The conference, which aims to solve the oil industry challenges through advanced researches and innovative developments, is open to all universities and educational institutions faculties and students that are interested to participate, publish and present their innovative work.
The objective of the conference is to provide researchers from all over the world with the opportunity to see the original work of others and to benchmark the technical and scientific edge within the oil industry. The call for papers was sent out to interested universities, academia and students to submit their research work that falls under one of the conference’s categories to help utilise the knowledge for continuous research and learning, then identifying possible opportunity to improve on it for future deployment or trial in real field applications.
Participants will have the opportunity for initiating new research project proposal and future joint collaboration that provides solution to the oil industry challenges.
Research and development categories include subsurface-related issues such as Enhanced Oil and Gas Recovery (EOGR), Enhanced Water Flooding, Reservoir Characterisation and Modelling and Advanced Geophysical Technologies in Carbonate and drilling.
Categories in surface area include Facilities and Pipeline Integrity and Reliability, Smart Field Automation, Process System Engineering, Gas Treatment and Sweetening, Energy Efficiency and Environment and Renewable Energy.An Ardac Award Ceremony will be held on Feb.26 to recognise the efforts of the researchers for their thinking, caring and time to create and deliver new knowledge and solutions to the industry’s challenges.
Ardac is run by Adnoc OPCO’s and PI Research and Development (R and D) Oil and Gas Committees and is held annually in Abu Dhabi during spring time.
During the first quarter of 2006, Adnoc OPCO’s R and D committees, together with Petroleum Institute (PI), commenced a research initiative to provide strategic leadership and research to a number of identified challenges in the oil and gas industry.
Today the R and D committees have active research projects and additional new challenges for all researchers all over the world to explore and propose new solutions.
