Organisations plan charity activities in Ramadan

SHARJAH: With the start of the Holy Month of Ramadan, also known as the month of giving and sharing, individuals and organisations, are gearing up to celebrate with a large number of planned activities.

The  organisations, have  been planning numerous charity activities and Iftar tents to benefit the majority.

Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) is planning to run a number of activities including giving food packages to community members in Dubai.

The association is planning to collect funds and hand over around 500 food packages among needy families in the month of Ramadan and to help them to meet their kitchen needs without any difficulties.

Besides, the organisation has also launched a campaign and is asking philanthropists to donate funds that will be used for releasing inmates from jails who have been waiting for someone to pay their fines.

Shopping centres like Mercato embrace the Holy Month of Ramadan with beautiful and traditional Arabic style decorations to set the appropriate mood and ambience.

This Ramadan, Mercato invites mall visitors to enjoy complimentary coffee and dates in its relaxing hospitality tent courtesy of Patchi, from sunset every day until 10:30pm.

In addition, customers can visit Mercato’s charity henna tent from 6pm until 10pm daily.

The tent is provided by Jewels Boutique.

Mercato will also be running interactive children’s workshops from 5pm until 9pm every day, courtesy of Little Wonders Nursery.

The young visitors will get to enjoy a variety of arts and crafts including Ramadan and Eid cards, UAE flags and painting.

It is also mentioned that the UAE Red Crescent and other charity organisations in Sharjah, Dubai and other emirates are setting up Iftar tents at different locations to offer free meal/meals throughout the holy month of Ramadan.

Furthermore, another Pakistani organisation has planned “Mehfil Hamd-o-Naat” to be held in Sheraton hotel in Dubai on July 3.

A number of well-known reciters of Hamd and Naats will perform in the event.

 The performers include Qari Waheed Zafar Qasmi, Siddiq Ismail, Syed Sabih Rehmani, Muhammad Asghar Chishti, Qari Afzal Anjum and others.

Colonel Aqeed Hamad Al Ansari, Director General Sports, Dubai Police will be the chief guest as couple of Umrah tickets will be given to lucky winners.
