Winners of Taryam and Abdullah Omran Journalism Award honoured

SHARJAH: The winners of the 14th edition of the Taryam and Abdullah Omran Journalism Award were honoured by Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, on Saturday during the 17th annual conference of Al Khaleej held at its headquarters.

The winners were Jameel Al Dhiyabi for his interview published in Saudi Okaz daily newspaper, Maryam Al Shurooqi for her column published in Bahraini Al Wasat newspaper, Dr Abdullah Al Awadhi for his article published in Al Ittihad newspaper and Sharif Ahmed Arafa for his caricature also published in Al Ittihad newspaper.

Other winners included Emad Abdul Hameed for his investigative reporting published in Al Bayan newspaper and Al Sayed Ramadan Al Sayed of Kul Al Usra magazine for his press photographs of the Address Hotel fire.

The award for cultural and humanitarian achievement was granted to Abdullah Humaid Al Mazrooei, former Minister of Justice and earlier Minister of Labour, Social Affairs, and Saif Bin Ali Al Jarwan, former Minister of Economy and Trade and earlier Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, in recognition of their distinctive achievements for the nation and public welfare.
