DUBAI: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, attended on Sunday in Dubai a presentation chronicling the efforts and achievements made so far by the Higher Committee for Hosting the 2020 World Expo since it was established last May.

The Higher Committee was formed by a decree by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum in his capacity as the Ruler of Dubai. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Emirates Group, serves as Chairman of the Committee.

The presentation also explained the dossier on the UAE’s bid that the Higher Committee will present at the International Exhibitions Bureau (Bureau International des Expositions, BIE) during its meeting in Paris next month. 161 member countries of BIE are expected to take part.

The dossier substantiates with facts and figures the ability of Dubai to host the global event.

The presentation, at the Emirates Towers, was attended by Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Deputy Ruler Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and senior officials.
