DUBAI: Cricket fans in Dubai will be treated to a display of sporting talent from world-renowned cricketer Rahul Dravid on March 22. The legendary athlete will take to 7he Sevens for an exciting day of cricket action at the Emirates Airline Twenty20.
Dravid, who is regarded as one of the most technically sound batsmen of his time, and was awarded the ICC Player of the Year and the Test Player of the Year in 2004, will play in the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) squad which will also include South African cricketer Dale Benkenstein, who will captain the team.
The MCC side will be taking on English county squads Lancashire, Sussex and Dubai-based Fly Emirates XI in a battle to win the coveted Emirates Airline Twenty20 Trophy.
Getting under way at 10am, the first match of the day will see Lancashire taking on Fly Emirates XI on Pitch 1. Next up will be defending champions Sussex taking on the star studded MCC team on Pitch 2. Following the head-to-head matches, the much-awaited final will then take place at 2pm.
