Dr Moza Al Kaabi dies in accident

FUJAIRAH: People in the United Arab Emirates were shocked at the sudden death of Dr Moza Al Kaabi in a road accident on Friday. She was the first Emirati doctor to have earned a master’s degree in orthopaedic surgery. She was also an International Goodwill Ambassador.
She had a grand record of important scientific and national contributions and was known for her humility and warmth for all segments of society. The doctor was known for her humanitarian initiatives.


 
Dr Moza was born in Fujairah and had done high school in Glasgow, Scotland. She then moved to England to begin her medical studies and learn the English language. She later travelled to China and obtained a Bachelor of General Medicine and Surgery degree with honours from the province of Xinjiang. She got a master’s degree in orthopaedics from the Tianjin province.

Dr Moza, who was the first orthopaedic fractures physician in the UAE, travelled to many countries to hone her skills and learn about the latest developments in orthopaedic diseases.

 
In 2013, she was selected as a Goodwill Ambassador by the Organisation of the Southern Philippines Muslim and Non-Muslim Unity and Development Association (SPMUDA). The body is registered with the United Nations Economic and Social Council. She was the first Emirati doctor who held such a high position in her field.
