$1.5 billion CSR campaign to secure the world

DUBAI: Abu Dhabi-based IT Solutions company, Secure Cam, has embarked upon a major campaign to secure the world by equipping more than 1.5 million buildings across the world with security camera solutions for free.

The $1.5 billion global campaign, which is part of the company’s CSR activities, was launched in Dubai on Wednesday.

The first phase of the campaign will be rolled out across 13 countries including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, The Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Russia, Holland and Australia in addition to the UAE. The second phase will focus on installations across other countries in the Mena region.

“Our idea is to secure at least one city in every country by the end of 2025. We plan to install a maximum of 10,000 cameras in each city for free. The total cost of the project is estimated at around $1.5 billion,” explains Rijoy Thomas, Chairman and CEO of the Abu Dhabi-based Secure Cam IT Solutions.

Established in 2014, Secure Cam has been providing security solutions across the GCC and has since been working with more than 1000 large- and medium-sized corporates.

“The UAE is a perfect example of how a secure environment has resulted in economic prosperity. Our aim is to take the UAE story to the rest of the world. ‘Secure Our City’ emerged from this thought and we are very happy to launch this from Dubai, a city that is considered one of the safest in the world,” said Thomas.

“Everyone has the right to safety and we are committed to protecting you. ‘Secure Our City’ aims to fulfill our dream of a safe, secure and protected world for everyone,” he added.

Secure Cam has launched an online portal where users from across the world can login and register their request for free cameras to be installed in their buildings, provided it is not already connected with a CCTV system.
